Best Apple iPhone deal July 2023: iPhone 14 Pro Max from iD Mobile

iPhone 14 Pro Max

iD Mobile currently offers the best deal on the best Apple phone – the iPhone 14 Pro Max

You can fight all day long about what the best Android phone is (it's the Galaxy S23 Ultra though, isn't it), but there's never any doubt as to what the best Apple phone is – the iPhone 14 Pro Max. It's the flagship for the brand. It's the most expensive and most fully featured. But if you've tried looking for the best deal, we feel your pain. There are literally hundreds of them out there, often with confusing upfront costs and varying monthly payments with a plethora of marginally different SIMs. That's what we're here for, though. We've found you the best deal for July to save you all the work. It's…

iPhone 14 Pro Max from iD Mobile, unltd data, £52.99 p/m

There are a few things you should be aware of when it comes to this selection. For one thing we've limited our search to unlimited deals. If you don't need or want unlimited data, you can save an extra quid or two. But make no mistake, unlimited data is where every deal is going in the next few years. Some European countries are already there – they are laughing at us. Jeering. Poking fun at our limited data deals. And what's an extra quid or two for the peace of mind of never hitting your data limit, or having to worry about it, and being able to tether all your other devices to your phone as much or as little as you like? We think it's worth it.

iPhones are ridiculously expensive. There, we said it. With the top 1TB model nearly £1700 on its own. But you don't need that. You'll never need that. The 128GB model is just fine for 99.9% of consumers. Just be wary of certain apps taking up vast amounts of storage when you're not looking. We're looking at you Twitter and WhatsApp. We've opted for the 128GB version here, but if you're certain you need more storage you're going to have to pay at least an extra £7 per month for the 256GB version, so bear that in mind. We don't think you need it, but completely understand if you want it.

For those paying close attention to the complete range of current mobile deals, you may notice Samsung's flagship S23 Ultra – as good as or perhaps even better than the iPhone 14 Pro Max – is £10 per month cheaper and more than £200 cheaper overall. Well, that's the Apple tax for you – Apple just has a tendency of pricing themselves higher than everyone else either because they perceive themselves to be the best or they simply want us to believe that. It remains that this is the best deal right now.

Is this deal really cheap?

Yes, but it does get a little blurry here. Don't tell anyone, but you can buy an iPhone 14 Pro Max on its own for around £1060. If you have that sort of cash lying around, you could buy a handset outright then add the cheapest unlimited data SIM (Lycamobile currently offers that at £10 per month), and if you add that all together you'll have paid £1300 total, saving £70.76 on the total cost of this deal. So why don't we recommend doing that then? Well, we sort of are, right here. It's just most folk don't want to stump up over a thousand quid upfront.
