Did you know there are many parts of the UK where the 5G mobile signal is a lot faster than anything you can get via a cable in your street? Three does, which is why it began offering home broadband packages on its mobile network a couple of years ago. The service is pretty mature at this point and well worth considering if you live somewhere where fixed-line broadband is slow. Let's take a look at its latest deal.

Three home broadband

Three Broadband works in exactly the same way a regular fixed-line solution does when it comes to your experience in your home. There's a fast router that blasts a wifi signal out to all four corners of your home and you connect your devices to it in exactly the way you'll be accustomed to.

The difference is that rather than entering your home via a cable, Three Broadband is delivered to your router via the Three mobile network. Three's broadband routers will connect to either a 4G or 5G signal depending on what's available where you live, and provide download speeds of up to 70Mbps and an incredible 597Mbps respectively. Do bear in mind these are maximums however. Your actual download speed may vary, but Three will be able to give you a good idea of your signal strength and likely speeds when you sign up.

Half price for six months

Three Broadband is offered on a 24-month contract, which is admittedly quite long. BT, EE, Plusnet and others are all pushing two year contracts these days and it does seem to be the shape of things to come. Never mind that though, because Three Broadband is offering its 4G and 5G home broadband packages half-price for the first six months. It's not expensive even when there isn't an offer on. At £22 per month for broadband speeds of up to 597Mbps is ludicrously cheap. But £11 per month for the first six months? It's practically theft.

4G or 5G?

There is a big difference in the speeds you'll get from Three Broadband depending whether you can gt 4G or 5G where you live. If you don't know which one you can get, worry not! Clicking on either of these deals will take you to Three where it will check your location and tell you which you can get:

Be up and running next day

Three Broadband doesn't require a line coming into your home like traditional broadband does. Another major benefit of that is that you won't have to wait for an engineer and an install date to get up and running. It is, to quote Three, 'Plug and Play'. In fact, it's so easy your Three Broadband can be up and running the daty after you order it.

Three will send you a box overnight containing your router, and all you need to do is plug it in and follow some simple instructions and voila! You're off and running.

Unlimited data

Mobile data plans traditionally have monthly data limits, but that would never work if you're using a mobile network for your home broadband connection. So Three Broadband doesn't set any limits on how much data you can use. It is unlimited.

30-day money back guarantee

You can order Three Broadband and try it out. That's easy to do with a simple plug and play router since you don't need any engineer work doing and you don't need to mess with any existing lines. You can order the package, give it a whirl, and if it doesn't meet your expectations or needs you can cancel, get your money back and mail back Three's router. 30 days is a very generous cancellation period too. Normally, cooling off periods run around two weeks.

Three+ app offers exclusive rewards

Whether you're a Three Broadband customer or a Three mobile customer, you can download and log in to the Three+ app on your phone and tablet. This app will provide you with regular rewards from Three's chosen partners. Discounts on visits to Cineworld, Frankie & Benny's, Uber Eats and more.

Solid customer service record

According to Ofcom's most recent report, customers were on average 83% satisfied with its service overall. What's more the amount of time customers spent waiting in a call queue for customer services was the lowest in the business, averaging just 47 seconds.

Complaints to Ofcom about Three were low at just 9 per 100,000 customers. (BT was 14, Virgin Media 12). And overall, 84% of customers felt they were getting good value for money.
