As long as TalkTalk fibre broadband is available in your local area, you can quickly and easily upgrade from standard / ADSL broadband over the phone. Not sure what’s on offer where you are? Enter your postcode into our fibre optic checker to find out what’s available where you live.
There are seven different fibre options available:
All fibre deals include unlimited downloads, allowing you to browse the internet, play games online, and stream as much content as you like without worrying about usage caps.
TalkTalk’s HomeSafe network security package is included with all fibre deals, protecting your devices (including tables, laptops and phones) from viruses and malware and keeping kids safe online by blocking adult content.
You’ll also have a landline installed alongside your broadband, with free calls to other TalkTalk customers included as standard (unless you choose a full fibre package, which comes without a landline as standard). You also have the option to upgrade to a call package that suits your individual needs. You can even add TalkTalk TV (powered by a Netgen Box) to your bundle and watch over 70 channels online.
Special mention must be made that if you're planning to upgrade your package as an existing customer, you will be signing a new contract. As such you will be able to get the same introductory deals and offers that a new customer will. However, these new-customer offers are not available if you're planning to downgrade your speed.
With Fibre 35, 65, 150, and 250, TalkTalk offers its Wifi Hub which is simple to use. Simply plug in and switch on and you’re good to go.
If you upgrade to the Fibre 500 option or to Fibre 900, you’ll receive a high-end eero Pro 6 WiFi router. This router operates on frequencies of up to 6 GHz and uses a mesh system to ensure reliability.
Alongside upgrading your broadband deal from standard/ADSL to a fibre connection, you can also upgrade or add phone and TV provision to your deal.
To provide you with regular fibre broadband, TalkTalk must install a landline phone connection since the final stretch of your connection is carried by a copper phone line (the fibre connection only goes as far as your local streetside cabinet). Pay-as-you-go calls are the standard option, but you can choose to bolt on additional call packages if you use your landline regularly.
Call packages on offer are unlimited anytime calls, or international calls.
Customers choosing a full fibre connection will not require a landline connection.
TalkTalk offers customers the Netbox 4K from Netgem. It includes 70+ Freeview channels, and 30 streaming apps (including Netflix and Amazon Prime, subject to additional subscription fees). You can also choose to bolt on any NOW TV memberships you wish, including Sky Sports, Entertainment and Movies.
There is no need for an aerial for the Netgem box – all the channels are available via your internet connection.
Take a look at the deals available at the top of the page. If you see anything that takes your fancy, simply get in touch with TalkTalk on the phone or visit the brand’s website to upgrade quickly and easily.
When you upgrade your TalkTalk services, your old contract is withdrawn and replaced with a new one. For example, if you sign up for an 18-month broadband and phone package and decide to add TalkTalk TV six months later, the remaining 12 months of your current contract would be disregarded and you would begin a fresh 18-month contract for your new broadband, phone and TV bundle. If you need help understanding your contract, read our guide.
