NOW (formerly NOW TV) is one of the biggest and most popular streaming services around – and with good reason. Not only does it offer thousands of movies and box sets on demand, subscribers get access to live Sky channels without being tied into a lengthy contract (though that's now also a feature of Sky Stream).

There are five NOW memberships to choose from and while it would be expensive to sign up to all of them, individually they each offer pretty good value for money. In this guide we’ll look at the channels included with each NOW Membership as well as the sort of on demand content you can expect to see.

NOW Entertainment Membership

The NOW Entertainment Membership features some of the most popular Sky channels as well as an absolute tonne of TV box sets including some of the biggest TV hits of recent years – we’re talking about the likes of House of the Dragon, Succession, and Poker Face. Let’s take a look at the channels on offer.

• Sky Atlantic – The home of many of Sky’s biggest shows, including Succession, House of the Dragon and The Last of Us. Sky Atlantic isn’t available from Virgin Media, so a Sky Stream subscription or a NOW Entertainment Pass (either on its own or via BT/EE TV or TalkTalk TV) are the only ways to watch it and indeed access any of its content on catch-up short of outright buying it on a competing service or Blu-ray/DVD
• Sky Max – Sky Max features a mix of comedy, drama, and entertainment shows, including Cobra, The Lazarus Project and Fantasy Football League
• Sky History – Formerly known as the History Channel, Sky History airs documentaries, reality shows, and dramas such as The Curse of Oak Island and Secrets of the Lost Ark
• Sky Nature – Packed with hundreds of episodes of nature programming, including exclusive David Attenborough documentaries and Ultra HD content like Wild Dynasties
• Sky Witness – Previously called Sky Living, Sky Witness focuses on US crime and medical dramas such as Grey’s Anatomy, Chicago Fire and The Equalizer
• Sky Comedy – Dedicated to US comedy, featuring modern hits like Saturday Night Live, alongside classics like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Parks and Recreation
• Sky Crime – Perfect for true crime fans, featuring investigative documentaries and gripping series such as Murder in the Valleys and The Real Manhunter
• Sky Documentaries – Features more than 100 acclaimed documentaries covering sporting moments, celebrity scandals, politics, and more, including Hillary and The Kingmaker
• Sky Showcase – A highlight reel of Sky’s top shows across its channels, from gripping dramas to popular documentaries and comedies
• Sky Kids – Includes Sky Kids and a host of other children’s channels such as Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Nicktoons, Cartoon Network, Cartoonito, and Boomerang, catering to kids of all ages
• Sky Sci-Fi – Formerly SyFy, this channel now features a mix of science fiction and horror, including Resident Alien and Chucky
• MTV – Once known for its music, MTV is now dominated by reality TV favourites like Catfish: The TV Show and The Challenge
• Comedy Central – Continues to air beloved classics such as Friends and South Park, alongside newer offerings like Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens
• Peacock – An exclusive general entertainment channel featuring shows like Bel-Air, Dr. Death, and The Real Housewives. It also includes movies and more
• NBC News NOW – A rolling, 24-hour news channel delivering high-quality, in-depth coverage from NBC, one of the world’s leading news broadcasters
• GOLD – A treasure trove of classic British comedy shows including Blackadder, Only Fools and Horses, and The Vicar of Dibley
• Alibi – Focuses on crime dramas, both from the UK and US, with highlights such as Traces and Annika
• BSL Zone – A unique channel dedicated to programming made in British Sign Language
• Paramount+ – Now included with a NOW subscription, offering hit shows like Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Yellowjackets and Tulsa King, as well as a library of Paramount movies

NOW Sports Membership

The Sky Sports Membership gives you access to 10 Sky Sports channels. While there are no box sets to be found here, the channels feature a wide range of live events, documentaries, classic clips, and in-depth interviews when not showing live coverage.

Sky Sports Premier League

The home of English football’s top flight, with hundreds of live Premier League matches every season, exclusive in-depth analysis, and commentary. It's the go-to channel for all things Premier League.

Sky Sports Football

This channel focuses on international football, the EFL, the Carabao Cup, Scottish Premiership matches, and selected European leagues, offering extensive coverage for fans of all levels of the game.

Sky Sports Cricket

The ultimate destination for cricket fans, featuring exclusive live coverage of England’s Test matches, The Hundred, T20 competitions, and the County Championship. Major international cricket tournaments are also included.

Sky Sports Formula 1

Sky Sports Golf

Extensive coverage of the biggest golf tournaments, including the PGA Tour, European Tour, The Masters, The Open, US Open, PGA Championship, and the Ryder Cup.

Sky Sports Racing

Formerly known as At The Races, this channel features live coverage of UK and international horse racing, daily tips, racecards, results, interviews, and expert analysis.

Sky Sports Action

Covers a wide variety of sports, including NBA basketball, Rugby Union, Rugby League, NFL, boxing, and darts. Great for fans of fast-paced and physical sports.

Sky Sports Main Event

The flagship channel showcasing the biggest live events from all the dedicated sports channels. This includes Premier League matches, major finals, and other key fixtures when multiple games are on simultaneously.

Sky Sports Mix

A blend of live sports, highlights, and documentaries, featuring sports that don’t have their own dedicated channel. Includes tennis, swimming, basketball, and rugby.

Sky Sports News

Your 24/7 hub for all the latest sports headlines, breaking news, and in-depth analysis. Its coverage of transfer deadline day and Soccer Saturday, hosted by Jeff Stelling, are fan favourites.

NOW Cinema Membership

The NOW Cinema Membership gives you access to 12 live channels and thousands of movies available to watch on demand. With an incredible mix of recent releases, family favourites, timeless classics, and exclusive Sky Originals, there’s something for everyone. Here’s the full list of channels:

In addition to the live channels, the NOW Cinema Pass includes an impressive library of on-demand movies featuring recent blockbusters like Top Gun: Maverick and Avatar: The Way of Water, timeless classics like The Godfather, and Sky Originals such as A Good Person and The Midwich Cuckoos. The lineup frequently updates with new releases, so you’ll always find something fresh to watch.

The names are correct at the time of writing. Sometimes Sky either changes one of these names or adds an additional channel to celebrate a holiday, a particular film franchise or a new release. Past temporary appearances include Sky Cinema Christmas, Sky Cinema Harry Potter and Sky Cinema Star Wars.

NOW Kids Membership

Sky no longer offers a separate Kids Membership. Instead, all the kids' channels have been included in the NOW Entertainment Membership. This means you get a fantastic selection of kids' content as part of the same subscription, making it a great value for families.
